Freddy - Applian is NOT under new management. We're here just as strong as always and not going anywhere. Applian has partnered with Jaksta to create Replay Media Catcher 4. This is great news for us and for our customers. We've merged the two finest stream recorders into one awesome recorder.

I'm changing the title of your post as not to confuse people. OK?

Hey Debbie!

That's nice to read. :D

Okay, I'll give it a try. At this time I've got some problems to download (some, not all) webinars from www.xritephoto.com (http://www.xritephoto.com) - Replay Media Catcher 3.X is doing fine, 4.X is doing nothing. Well, I've to see, what's the reason.

You're welcome, Debbie! :D

So from what I see in program files in the jaksta folder and RMC folder; these 2 apps are the EXACT same now except GUI? Does this mean that RMC will also have that annoying issue 'catching' pages with multiple flash windows?

like on stickam when celebs come on and theres a main window and multiple side windows, jaksta always messes up and catches only one of the windows, instead of all of them like RMC. Will RMC also have this issue now?

Just tested it, it does have the same issue. Way to make RMC more useless!

Ill stick to RMC 3.11 :)

Have you checked the filenames only? Or have you used checksums?

Oh - and the GUI is nearly the same:

:( What happend to the Applian-Code?
:( And what are the differences to Jaksta?
:( Where are the pro's for the customers?

Yes, Jaksta and Replay Media Catcher 4 are similar. However there are important differences. Replay Media Catcher 4 adds the audio recorder, scheduler and music tagging.

Replay Media Catcher 4 can successfully capture from more sites than Replay Media Catcher 3 could. We're quite excited about this partnership. Great things to come.

Just file names. but now that I see the screenshot, I guess they are just the same app with minor differences.

- Also with version 4, it seems live streams cant be recorded fully anymore. It only records a couple of min or something and then stops.
- 'Stop and save recording' was a nice option in the older version. (maybe cancel does the same now?)
- Tagging doesnt worth with stickam anymore.
- where did that record audio option go?
- demo mode is much more annoying now with that stupid popup every single time you hit record.

1. What happened to 'Enable Super Download' as in 3.11? v4 seems to record in real time as opposed to really quickly in 3.11.

2. And a real retrograde step is the recording name. 3.11 picks up the name of the programme - so far v4 has not

Simple progressive HTTP streams. Both RMC 3.11 and 4.x work fine for me.

p.s. Please do not post every possible bug in this thread. Create a separate thread for a particular bug (if it hasn't been created yet).

Another great thing is that RMC 4 can be bought as a part of Replay Capture Suite.
Also there are upgrade options for Applian customers (http://www.applian.com/upgrade.php)

- This is the case now with Stickam. Why in the world they would ruin this feature is beyond me. It seems like a step backwards. Furthermore if you look at their webpage at http://www.applian.com/recording_solutions/show_service-id-286.html it states that it was tested and worked. Very misleading. If they could fix this it would be great as my system is very much more stable (browsers etc.) with the new version.

ive noticed something else about recording live streams... everytime i try it says its a secure stream and can only be recorded while it plays in browser. version 3 didnt do this and come to mention it, a few days ago before the update to fix bugs , streams were recording perfectly in version 4 too.

This is how it is meant to be. If you use RTMP downloading mode, you can close a web player. If you use RTMP recording mode, RMC 4 captures packets from your flash player, so you shouldn't close it. RTMP recording mode allows to record streams that can't be downloaded.

Is anyone at Applian paying attention and looking at this? Anyone else able to get it to work?
