high pitch screech or scratching sound

If i add a station through the media guide which is a recording of a .m3u stream of 64kbps 22khz and i have a setting of converting to mp3 128 kbps it has a high pitched screech or scratching sound and the volume seems to fluctuate a little. But if i goto the website and enter the url manually and bypass the media guide, it records flawless. Any ideas?

Have you tried to do the recording without converting? If not give that a try and see if it works. Then do the conversion as a separate operation.

I still get the same results! For some reason the station you guys have doesn't broadcast the same quality...Its like at 41kbps through media guide and if i get it from the website its about 66 kbps..I'm guessing the lower quality may have something to do with the conversion quality??? Also if i try to tune into the station from the website url, it crashes the replay tuner!! Not a big deal..it will still capture and record with good quality but may need to be updated in the media guide!
