vanishing icons in windows 7

As the subject says - I normally have AV 8.79 pinned to the taskbar in windows 7. Annoyingly, it's icon doesn't stick; it periodiucally reverts to the windows default for unknown programs.

Any fix known? Anybody else seeing the same?

This is something that seems to happen sometimes with Windows. Right mouse click your desktop and go to personalize. Go to Display. Select medium and apply and log off. Now, log back in and repeat the process and select small. It should then be there for you.

Not a big deal but all of a sudden I am not seeing icons for Replay AV and Converter on my desktop and in the menu. Other Capture Suite icons are still showing. I tried reinstalling both programs and still no icons (although the icons do appear in Windows Explorer and in Properties). I am running Win7SP1. Anybody know what's happening here? It hasn't affected program functionality, it just annoys me to see those Windows placeholders instead of the icon. Thanks.
