I'm recording a Silverlight Smooth Stream of the Big Buck Bunny video
http://www.iis.net/media/experiencesmoothstreaming It seems to record, but i can't playback the recording.

For this you need to use our Replay Video Capture program. Give it a try and see how it meets your needs.

Smooth Streaming Media uses .ISMV fragmented MP4 file for streaming. I haven't tried to dowload ISMV files with Replay AV yet.

You can play ISMV with Microsofts Expression Encoder, but it costs $30.

You can also convert .ismv files with freeware command line utility mp4split

mp4split -o output.mov input.ismv
This remuxes the complete .ismv file into an MP4 container. You can safely rename output.mov onto output.mp4.

Try Replay Media Catcher 4.0.17. It works fine with Smooth Streaming Major Version 2 streams. Recorded this cartoon without any issues.
