I've been using Replay Music successfully to record tracks and whole albums from Pandora, Napster, Play.Me, Lala, and several other sites. I have seen lots of info about the bitrates that these sites use for downloading, but not for playback. For example, eMusic downloads are around 220 Kbps VBR, but you can't play back whole tracks, just a short sample.

Can anyone recommend the best site?

Today I read that Spotify offers a "premium" service at 320 KBps, which is almost CD quality. However, that's for download, not for playback. Spotify is also not yet available in the U.S.

Mog streams at 320.

Thanks for the tip. According to Wikipedia, Mog streams at 256 Kbps, but that is still better than Napster or LALA. I'll give it a try.
