Guys,
Is there any plans to develop Replay Splitter so it can split Flash Video files (.flv)

I've got loads of flv files that I want to quickly split but at the moment I have to convert the files first... It would be really handy if media splitter could do this..

Cheers Chukkel

At the present time, no. You are able to convert the files and then split them. We have Replay Converter (http://www.applian.com/replay-converter/index.php)that does a great job of this.

OK thanks for the reply, I do have the full suite, and I know how to split/convert things as I do this on a daily basis but it just takes a long time to convert them and the only reason im converting them is so I can use replay splitter..

PS. I just want to correct you by saying you can't split files using Replay Converter (http://www.applian.com/replay-converter/index.php) you need splitter for that :p

Mr Chukkel,

Happy to completely agree with you.
I have to convert flash to wmv format daily for the same reason to use splitter.
The converted wmv files are 7 times larger than the flash ones for the same quality - or so the software states. It takes ages even on a quad core pc and for the user there is no actual point.

Splitter upgrade to include flash should hurry up to respond to customer needs. More and more sites are going over to flash format.

It is ironic that the new WM Recorder 14's own selling points include:

"Improved Flash Video recording. - WM Recorder 14 can record live Flash streams - the kind you find on sports sites or live web chats super easily. And we've improved the recording of longer programs thanks to a new high-speed download and automatic reconnect for streams over an hour in length.

On Demand Features for Flash Recording - Record, pause and rewind live Flash radio and TV streams - something even the sites that stream live Flash don't offer.

Record Flash Radio Streams in AAC Format - Which is super convenient. This is the format that iTunes.

Improved playback experience - All downloaded Flash Videos are seekable, including Webcam recordings."

I have a 2 hour long .flv file ... I converted to .avi and increased the bitrate to preserve quality ... I use splitter to extract a portion and I get the extracted portion with video but no sound...what happened?
