Recorded output ends in mp3.xxxxx

Intermittenly after recording speaker output, after conversion I get a file in the output directory with the extension

sometitle.mp3.xxxxx

If I remove the .xxxxx the file appears to play ok. A search on the bulletin board produces no hits. Can anyone provide insight.

This sounds like the conversion didn't completely finish. There are a variety of reasons for this-such as stopping the conversion, turning off the computer, or a simple glitch in the system.

I should have mentioned that the mp3.xxxxx when renamed and played is there in its entirety.

Is the file named title.mp3.xxxxxx during conversion then renamed to title..mp3 after conversion???????
