Doesnt seem like many quick answers for us mac users. I did load "Jing" . It works on mac but it only records 5 min at a time and is low quality. 2 exts from FF - Clipta and Net Video Hunter - also work for Mac FF users , but they dont seem to work for espn 360

Frustrating...

I just want to save a decent qualilty flv file so i can either download to disc or to an external hard drive

Hi,

Are you using a virtual PC program on your Mac? If so, you can run our programs. They will not run natively on a Mac, but work great if you have Parallels, Bootcamp or VMWare.

For audio streams, Replay AV will record anything that you can hear. If the FLV files are video streams, then you would want to use Replay Media Catcher.

Im worried that ESPN 360 has glitches that will make for weak recording. For example when i used Jing to capture some video of a football game replay off of 360 it came out "choppy"

I never used these virtual PC programs before. I guess thats a great idea since there's so much that mac isnt compatible with. Do you think it will record the HD espn 360 streams in the same high quality??

Out of the 3 programs you named is there one you would reccomend more than the others?? I have a Mac book version 10.5.8

Thanks!

Tom,
Could you give me a link for the download of VMware??

The product to use is specific to the stream itself. I tried playing one of the archived videos on ESPN 360, and it wouldn't even open. My guess is that the stream is not going to be able to be stream captured ( downloading of the file data itself ). This is the best recording method in terms of reproduction. You'll need to test with Replay Media Catcher - you can do so in demo mode for all of our programs. If stream capture does not work, then you would use Replay Video Capture to screen capture what is displaying on your computer screen. It will replicate the stream display, but record in real time only.

You can download VMWare here: http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/

You can download Parallels here: http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/?ClickID=cvwkvni7xv7kwflieqpkexfpzqkwkwap7kzz

thanks for ur help, tom
but now im worried because an apple "genius" said that if i use one of the virtual pc programs I'm then going to have to pay for windows and go through a big hassle to load windows down - or something like that. Then what if i go thru all this and still cant capture the wretched video!!

There is definitely a cost to be able to use PC programs on your Mac. One is the cost of the virtual program, then the cost to install Windows, then the recording software program itself. It looks like the virtual programs are available as free demos - same as our programs. The question is whether you can install Windows as a free demo so that you can test to make sure that the one of our programs will work for your needs. I do not have a Mac. But, a number of our people use Macs, including our lead technical specialist. I will forward this communication to her so you can receive more detailed and exact information. This should also include a true test of recording ESPN 360 to see which program works best - or at all.

You need to pay for a virtual machine, as well as for Windows OS.

You can try Darwine and Crossover that do not need Windows. But you shouldn't expect much from these products at the present time. Likewise you shouldn't expect much from ReactOS, free OS that aims to be compatible with Windows.

The good news is that you can use freeware virtual machine Virtual Box. Also if i'm not mistaken you can try Windows for 30 days. And you can install Windows 7 alpha and test it till the end of the year.

Sorry, probably Windows 7 beta 32 bit is the one that I should have suggested.

32bit is probably better, because there are still many programs that are not compatible with 64bit Windows OSes.

Wow, this is turning into a nightmare!! ALL I WANT TO DO IS CAPTURE ESPN 360 - MY GOD! You'd think i was breaking into the pentagon. I loaded Virtual Box , but now i realize i guess i have to buy purchase the disc for windows -- i dont know im stuck trying to get windows down on virtual box.
Like i said - an apple genius said to google "converting flv for mac" but that hasnt worked either (********). He also recommendedt the itunes store - no espn games there either. i also downloaded 3 extensions on FF - Clipta, downloadhelper and net video hunter -- NADA!

I've looked at tons of software - nothing for mac or nothing that works. So now ive downloaded Virtual Box and besides the fact that i cant stand that im putting all this CRAP on my computer I'm going to have to start paying for all kinds of stuff -- and now im stuck trying to load windows so its a mess!!

I probably should have just looked for bootlegs of this stuff on the net and boutght the damn thing!

Found a great bootleg site. Thanks anyway. Low pricing and high def . Just mad I wasted 2 days on this crap. With the clowns running the internet these days - illegal is always the way to go!
