Anyone know if it is possible to record streams that use the Move Media Player (http://www.movenetworks.com - yes, that's Move, not Movie - not a typo).

Here's an example:

http://channelbee.com/move/live-archive/fratellis/295

Replay Media Catcher doesn't catch it. When I use Replay A/V I get lots of different streams coming in and I don't think the software can follow the thread between them to create a single file from all the many packets.

Any ideas?

This is something we hope we can work into a future version..I'll let Andy comment on that :) In the mean time try using Replay Screencast:

I would love to hear what Andy has to say on the subject, maybe even a possible time-line of when a new version can be deployed.

At this point we're not even sure if it's a possibility. Thus it would be impossible to give you an ETA. I'll let Andy know that it's under discussion over here.

I tried looking in to the Move Player months ago... It uses many, many HTTP connections out requesting QMX (i think) files. The server responded with about 2kb of data. I am assuming these are chunks of encoded (maybe even encrypted) video data.

Seems like a lot of overhead for a server to pump out thousands of these fragments per user, per hour. I don't know how this format is going to become popular.

But, I will look closer into Move after I get Media Catcher 3 out of beta.

That sites streams .QMX files which are not any format that any video capture app would work on....try Replay Video Capture (http://www.applian.com/replay-video-capture/index.php) ;)

It will not be possible to make Media Catcher work with the Move Player. We recommend using Replay Video Capture:

Will this capture full screen, or does it matter one way or the other? I'd like to record ESPN360 streams (Move Media) and use a video editor so I can examine plays in slo-mo, be able to loop segments and jog/shuttle easily.

It depends on how you have it set up. I normally capture a small window as it records better for me and then plays back as a full. You set it up in the settings of the program.
