View Full Version : ReplayMusic 7 and recording wave-files

I switched today to version 7.

I am used to record to uncompressed wave-files - not using the encoding, tagging and splitting features of ReplayMusic - and to split and encode these waves myself with seperate tools, which gives much better and more reliable results.

Till version 7 wave-files were recorded with the common samplerate of 16 Bit, ReplayMusic 7 records them now with the samplerate of 32 Bit.
There seems no way to configure the samplerate to 16 Bit.
The result are wave-files of the double size than before.

Web-sources don't have such a good quality that using a samplerate of 32 bit makes any sense, at least it should be possible to configure the samplerate to 16 Bit.

So I have to downgrade to version 6 again.
Will there be an update to make this configurable or at least changed to a standard bitrate of 16 Bit?

This is not something that I have heard of happening before. The developer does read this and we do submit issues to him so perhaps in a future update.

I have been experimenting with the settings for a while.

This is what happens:

Recording to a wave-file with the audio-recording setting "Apllication" results in 32 Bit samplerate.
(I use Spotify as application)

Recording with the audio-recording setting "Stereo-Mix" results in 16 Bit samplerate.

Thanks for the input. It is appreciated.
