Convert dvr-ms?

Is this on your list of things to implement?

I use WatchHDTV to record from my Happauge HDTV card, and it makes dvr-ms files.

When I use Nero to make a DVD, it is extremely hard to edit out commercials because it is so slow. I have been going through the extra step of exporting to mpg or burning to the hard drive just so I can edit. I'm sure I am losing something in quality.

The files are 16:9 with 5.1 sound (about 9gb per hour show).

Or, maybe someone has a better method?
