Default FreeCorder (paid mode) not recording....

I run Vista Ultimate and just installed FreeCorder Ver. 2.3 (paid $19.95). It was my understanding that I will be able to capture and record anything I hear through the speakers.

I can only record through my USB mic. Nothing else.

I fiddled (for 2 hours) with all the different settings both in Freecorder and through control-panel’s “sound”, to no avail.

I read in the forum about setting: “Stereo Mix, Stereo Out, Wave Out Mix, What U Hear, Wave, Mix-Record or All”.

There are no such options in my FreeCorder Setup.

Any suggestions appreciated

Default What computer do you own?

If you own a Dell dimension c or e there's no way of getting freecorder to work, unless you go into the registry which is very dangerous.

You are going to find that Vista has made it very difficult to record audio and in most cases our Freecorder desktop version will not work.

Here is the link for our brand new Freecorder toolbar. It is free. Give it a download and let us know how you like it. This does work with Vista.

Default the vista fix

Ok, so I had this problem where when i hit record the error message "Data Execution" Prevention stopped this program." It's annoying, but can be overridden.
Go to your Start menu and look for Computer and second click it and go to properties. or go to Control panel and go to system

The system window comes up go to advanced system settings get through the UAC and the system properties box comes up

click "settings" under "performance" go to "Data Execution Prevention"

click "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select"
the list-box clears up.

go to Add. If you did not change the file path you should paste

"C:\Program Files\Freecorder Toolbar\Freecorder.exe"

into the file name box (w/o quotes) and then click "Open" on the list it should say "Freecorder Application and it should be checked.

Click Apply and then restart your computer and it should work fine.

Question

Hi Mr. Techi,

Just curious why did you go with "Freecorder Tollbar" and not "ASK & Record Toolbar"!?!?

Thanks,

G!
