Freecorder 3 won't record no way no how

It works OK on my XP Pro laptop. Not on my loaded HP w/ Vista Home Premium, Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio board with the latest drivers. UAC is off, I tried Firefox 2,3, IE 7. My "working" Digital Input Device is the default recording line. No Freecorder settings let me record. Same behavior on my other HP with Realtek Hi Def Audio device. All my audio works perfectly. This is a compete mystery.

Have you tried putting the settings to default?

Yes, click settings on the toolbar, then click default in the bottom corner. Make sure that you are clicking record BEFORE playing the audio you wish to record.

I was having the same problem and here's how I corrected it. I don't know why this works, but it does for me. There's a music player at the far right of the toolbar. If I start it playing, wait about 30 seconds, and then click Record, my recorder starts working. Thin I stop the music player. From then on, I can record anything that comes over the speakers. Try this and see if it works for you.
