pops on recording

Is there anything to do about little pops on sound card source recording? Seems to happen sometimes (not always) and was wondering if there was any techniques to prevent.

Otherwise an excellent/easy product

I have same or similar problem... they're at a medium to low level and all through a track, and effectively destroy any music recording. I don't hear these sounds thru the speaker. Sounds like something somewhere is interfering with the audio streaming.
ANY SUGEGSTIONS GRATEFULLY RECEIVED...
Otherwise, FREECORDER installs easily and seems to do everything it promised.

The program is going to pick up any sounds it hears on your system. It could be from background noise from your computer as an example. Try and limit your usage of the program and see if that makes a difference.

Stone jive response. I get pops, too, and they are NOT on recording, or coming from computer. I'm getting more and more leery of this software!

I have periodic cracks in recording. Repetition time is about 1/2 sec. They appear if player drops connection with stream server. If stream is absolutely continuous the cracks never appear. Inside recorded file the sound is absolutely clean before connection drop and has cracks after it. Cracks last from the moment of connection drop trough the end of the file, even there are other drops. I tested it on two defferent conputers
1. dual core 2GHz 2GB,
2. Quad core Xeon 3.3GHz 24GB. Effect is the same.

Are you using the desktop version? I have never been able to duplicate this issue with that so I want to make sure.

Hi Cheryl,
I am using Version 3.0 (Aug 9 2007) 16:36:32. I don't know it is desktop version or not. I used it on notebook and desktop computers with the same effect. I can send you a sample file with cracks or reference to a stream, which creates such effect. To duplicate this effect you need temporarily to discontinue somehow the stream.

You are using a toolbar and not the desktop version. You access it off of your Internet. We are aware that this happens in some cases. We do have a new Ask and Record Toolbar you might want to use and see if it helps. Thanks.

Hi Cheryl,

Q1: So is the "Ask & Record Toolbar" a step up from "Freecorder Toolbar" ... in sense that will do Video also and gets probably more readily updated.

Q2: If that is the case why are people choosing to go with a 2 year old product "Freecorder" when they can choose A&R 4.0?
