Default Splitter window does not get focus on startup

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2. I made a shortcut to the media splitter and put it in a folder in the Recordings tree in the Replay A/V directory structure. When I click on the Splitter shortcut in Windows Explorer the application starts up just fine, but positions itself behind the Explorer window where I clicked the shortcut. It's a minor annoyance and I am just wondering if anyone else sees this behavior.

Hi,

We've never had any reports of that type of behavior. Does this also happen if you click on the original desktop icon that Replay Media Splitter created? Also, does it happen if you open Replay Media Splitter from the default installed location of C:\Program Files\Replay Media Splitter\ReplayMediaSplitter.exe?

When I double-click the actual .exe file in Windows Explorer I get the same results: the application window opens up behind the Explorer window.

When I open Splitter from the Windows Start button the application window correctly gets the focus when the application starts.

Very odd. I'm not able to replicate that here. I'll check with the developer to see if he has any ideas.

I'll try the newly released version 1.5 and see if the behavior changes.

Nope, same behavior. The Splitter window opens behind the Explorer window. I can live with it.

Hi - I checked with the developer and he has also never seen that type of behavior with Replay Media Splitter. If you have time, could you please make a recording of your screen so that we can see what's happening. You can just use Replay Screencast (no sound necessary). Then send me the recording using YouSendIt. My YouSendIt drop-box is:

Thanks for helping us to troubleshoot.

I can do that, but I'm not sure Screencast is installed. I have the Capture Suite but A/V and Splitter are all I ever use. If Screencast is not installed do I just download it from http://www.applian.com/replay-screencast/index.php ? If so, will it will work with my Capture Suite license key?

Yep. Just download the demo and use your suite key.

Thanks!

Ok, I just sent you the Screencast recording. It shows the Splitter window opening behind the Explorer window.
