Recorded Shows don't show

I have Windows Media player's library set to monitor my Replay AV folder so podcasts and shows I record show up in my WMP library. The podcasts show up fine but the recorded shows do not. The shows I record are stream in Windows Media Player's asf format, yet WMP shows mp3 podcasts but not shows in its native format. I have tried converting the shows to mp3 but the converted files show up in the library with no information so I can tell which show or which episode of a show is which.

Is there a way around this so I can see these files in WMP with the usual library info?

I find it more convenient to use the WMP library than taking the extra step of going into Replay AV > Select Show > View Shows to play each recording. WMP also has speed control and most of my shows/podcasts are talk, which I can listen to at faster than normal speed.
