Requesting 16kBit/s Rate Recording Option

As a dial-up user, and to conserve disk space, I'd like to make some voice recordings at 16kbit/s.

Can this feature be added?

If so, can an option of 16kHz sampling rate be an option?
I know this is not the usual sampling rate for this, but it helps 'sharpen-up' some poor audio sources.

Works pretty good when I convert higher rate MP3s down to 16/16 with iTunes.

Yes, I can convert the 32Kbit/s FreeCorder files to 16Kbit/s with iTunes, but it would be nice to already have this built-in FreeCorder.
