Can't get Freecorder to work

I am using the toolbar version of freecorder.

I've tried over and over again but I can't get it to work.

I can either record from my microphone or record from the speakers, but I can't seem t set it up so i can record both.

What do I need to have the settings as to get this to work?

Any help would be extremely great
