Default Free recorder toolbar hijacked by pirate bay

I have just started to explore torrents and The Pirate Bay toolbar appeared in IE7. I was not aware of installing it or agreeing to installing it.

I could find no uninstall information. I eventually made the connection with conduit toolbars and FreeRecorder. I uninstalled FreeRecorder and the Pirate Bay went. Reinstalled FreeRecorder and Pirate Bay re-appeared!

Is it possible that conduit toolbars have a drive by add on process?

Anyway, it's gon now but it was annoying at the time
