Error codes: Can't install RVC - need help

I recently purchased the bundle and have been satisfied using Media Catcher.
I was informed to use RVC in a couple of cases where MC didn't work but am having problems getting my registered version of RVC to work. I only saw one reference to this problem posted about a year ago... but Tech were not able to resolve? (not sure)

QUESTION #1)
Pop-up error msg/s keep appearing:

1) Cannot Install MPeg Encoder filter
2) Failed to set up recording

I followed the instructions reflected on the tutorial, but it still doesn't work.
I'm using Windows XP. Error is the same whether I use Firefox or IE.

QUESTION #2)
Am I to understand that I can only have ONE browser open at a time when using RVC?
