Vista 64 SP1 Home Prem NO Audio or choices

When I select ''test'' an error comes back, ''cannot find audio source''. Also in the audio test dialog box under ''Select an Audio Source'' and '' Audio Inputs''
there are no listings at all..Vista checkbox is checked. On Shuttle PRO38 motherboard Realtek audio using Realtek audio driver 1.70 version 6.01.5582 ALC888 HD Audio using digital coaxial output to my surround reciever...which works fine.

Any ideas ?
