Default Help... two (files) are saved? One don't work

Hello

Can somebody please shed some light??? Pleeeez - Freecorder used to always work, but then tonight I wanted to record some audio from the web and found the cool console showing NO wave action! So I tried to change things in the "Settings" and finally got the thing to work. But when I completed, & the Name the file box popped up, & I agreed to save it, the destination of the files ended up having two(2) files saved??? One had the name of the file I chose and the other had the same name PLUS a "(2)" ??? Only the one with (2) had a recording that I can hear.
