View Full Version : Problem with Ask&Record Toolbar: Browser or OS not supported (Windows Vista 64bit, I.E. 8 / Firefox 3.5.2)

OS Vista Home Premium 64bit
Browsers: I.E. 8 and Firefox 3.5.2

I had to reinstall the OS. Now when I try to install the Ask and Record Toolbar I get the following message at the end of the setup. "Unable to complete installation. We'v detected that you have a browser or operating system that is not supported by toolbar." However it shows in Control Panel\Programs and Features as being installed. It does not show up in either browser.

I have uninstalled Firefox and tried FF 3.0.10 and FF 3.0.11 and then installed Ask and Record Toolbar. I get the same message. Every thing worked great until I had to reinstall the OS.

Any one have any solution or maybe a work around that will get the toolbar to install?

Ask doesn't support 64 bit systems.

If it does not support 64 bit systems, why did it work prior to me reinstalling my OS?

Some people have been able to install and use the toolbar on 64 bit systems. Unfortunately 64 bit systems are not supported by Ask, the toolbar is not made to work with these systems.

Tasha "Thank you very much for the explanation." I will continue with Freecorder for the time being and every so ofter try to install Ask&Record.
