I wasn't sure whether to start a new thread with this but I thought it might get complicated to add to another users thread.
I've used Freecorder successfully on Firefox for quite a while. The version I had used was Freecorder 3.0.1. When Firefox was recently updated to 3.5, Freecorder was disabled following the update as it wasn't deemed compatible. I followed the links, came to your site and installed Ask & Record 4.01. I can't remember the exact sequence I'm afraid and I'm not sure whether I uninstalled Freecorder before installing Ask & Record toolbar. During the installation, I unchecke the two boxes to make Ask.com my default search engine and the other to make ask.com my home page.
The symptom I now have is that the Ask & Record toolbar is installed perfectly as an add-on in Internet Explorer and it works just fine but it is not available in Firefox. The only toolbars available in Firefox are the standard Navigation and Bookmarks.
If I go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, I see "Ask & Record Toolbar" with the "Ask" logo next to it v1.4.4.0, also "Ask & Record Toolbar 4.01".
The toolbar is obviously installed on the system but there is no link to it from Firefox. Is there perhaps anything I can link in to Firefox to point to the installed Ask & Record toolbar?
I have tried various combinations of uninstalling the toolbar and rebooting but nothing seems to work.
I'm not sure it's relevant but I am using IE 8.0.6001.18783 on Vista Home Premium SP2.
