I've been using Freecorder 2 for a couple of years on Windows Vista (the same computer). Now when I set it up, go to preferences and select my input, stereo mix isn't listed. When I go to control panel/sound/recording stereo mix isn't listed, either as a disabled, enabled or disconnected device. No joy there.
I uninstalled Freecorder 2 and tried to install the Ask recording toolbar. It will not install and says that is because I have another Ask toolbar on my system. I don't. I have no toolbars on my system on either browser. After I tried to install the Ask toolbar on my system, it showed up in control panel/programs and features but did not install. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and got the same message. Is recording from the sound card disabled in Windows 7? I have the same machine, sound card, speakers that I had with Vista and they worked fine there. Frustrating:(

Freecorder 2 is not being updated and it probably will not work with windows 7 for the reasons you have mentioned. Regarding the Asl and Record Toolbar you need to ask that in the forum for that program. Thanks.
