Hi all,

I'm needing some help rather urgently. I need to record some audio from the internet that will only be available today Fri (aussie time)

Please help.

I am trying to install A&R Toolbar, but I keep getting the message that I already have an ASK toolbar installed and that I can only have 1 - uninstall the previous one and I should be able to go ahead and install A&R Toolbar - however I have no idea which toolbar would be powered by ASK.

I use the current version of Firefox on Windows 2000.

The only toolbars I have installed are :-

Navigation
Bookmarks
Currency Exchange
RankQuest SEO Toolbar

I'm sure it's none of those.

I did have 2 torrent downloaders installed - one was powered by ASK I think - Bit Torrent and U Torrent - but I have since uninstalled both and still keep getting the message - I shouldn't have to reboot after uninstalling should I ?

What could it possibly be ?

Your help appreciated.

Cheers
Robyn

create a new user account on your computer. Each user account is independent from eachother software installs don't share unless you tell them to, so, if you create a new user account then download the tool bar to the new account you should be able to uninstal without an more complictions (you will have do redownload your browser for the new account also). I had this problem before and it turned out I had a corupt file on my system and inorder to bipass the issue I had to create a second profile.:o

I have this same problem on Win XP SP3. I have uninstalled practically everything from Firefox except the program itself. There is NO toolbar running but I am told there is. Creating a new user does not work, neither does turning off the anti-virus. The program is obviously a crock.

Actually ... it works perfectly on my laptop ... just what I was after ...but it's a pain in the butt to have to transfer the files between the two.

I'm still looking for a solution to my PC installation though.

As I mentioned before I had a similar problem to this previously I am not sure if the new user account that you are talking about was a new user profile for firefox spacificly or a new user account directly on your computer; however, if you have created a new user account directly on your computer and are still having issues try looking at this site: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile sometims there is a corruption with a file assosiated with firefox and the only way to correct this is to create a new user profile not even uninstalling and reinstalling the program will help the link I provied above will help you do so and will explain a little more about why you should try this method. between the two solutions of creating a new user account on your computer and creating a new user profile for firefox you should be able to correct the problem though you might have to do both.:)
