clear videos listing and converting existing videos

When you click 'save video' in 'Ask and record' it shows the videos from pages you have visted. If you want to delete them from this list you have to delete them one by one. Is there no way you can clear the list with one click?

If not then this is akin to keeping a history of all the videos on all the pages visited and this could lead to privacy concerns as not many folk will want to delete scores of videos one by one....

Second point: Is there anyway to convert existing files in ask and record? I have an flv file I downloaded a while ago with another programme and I wish to split it up first and need to convert it to another format before splitting. However, after copying and pasting it into ask and record' storage folder when I click convert it is not listed. It is listed if I click the play button.

Alternatively, could you add an flv editing feature ( to split the movie) to 'Ask and record' to avoid having to convert the flv file before editing?

I have the same problem dunkindonut has - it takes an awful lot of time to delete all the videos one by one. We need a way to select a number of unwanted videos at a time and delete them or to delete all. (We need both options - delete selected ones or clear all).

I would also like to know if there is a way to record only the videos we need to record. As it is, the program records every video we view. Out of ten videos I watch, I may only want to record one or two.

Your help will be much appreciated.

You do have to delete the files one at time. There is a way to do this a little faster - once you have highlighted a video, hold down the shift key and click the delete button repeatedly to quickly delete all of the files in the list.

Thanks for the response. However a 'clear 'button or the ability to 'check' several individual videos for deletion in one go would be handy for any future updates of the software.


Also I have flv files which I have previously downloaded and I copied them into the the 'ask and record' folder in the hope of being able to convert them to another format for editing. However they did not show up as being available when I clicked the 'convert' button. Is there anyway to be able to select previously downloaded flv videos for conversion?

A feature which allows you to edit videos in the flv format rather than having to convert them first. A simple cutting tool would be handy to clip the videos to any size you want, nothing fancy.

Thank you for your response Tasha. The other problem I have is that the program copies every video I happen to watch - quickly filling up space, and the hassle of deleting one by one...

This happens even when I do not activate the Ask Tool Bar. Can you pls tell me how to prevent the prog from recording all and sundry?

It will store all videos that you watch unless you uninstall it. You can set a limit on the storage space if this is an issue for you. Click Settings, and change the size of the temporary storage.
