View Full Version : A&R creates many little mp3s

When I use A&R to record a single audio stream I end up with many mp3s of various size - from 19KB up to a few MB. Are other people seeing the same thing? If so, does anyone know of an easy way to combine them into a single file? I'm using Vista Business and IE8.

Cheers,

Dave

The audio recorder will split tracks when it detects silence. Check out Replay Media Splitter (http://www.applian.com/replay-media-splitter/index.php) for joining tracks.

Hi Dave,

Q1: So what route did you try ... Tasha software or something else to fix your delimma!?!?

Q2: How long have u been using A&R toolbar? And how do you like it? Any intrusive funny business?

Thanks,

G!:)

Is there anyway to turn off the "stop recording when silence is detected" "feature" or some other workaround that doesn't involve purchasing additional software? I was using Freecorder and it did not have this "feature" (or at least the captures did not create multiple files) and created one file. One file preferred. I like the Ask toolbar better than the Freecorder toolbar. However, the one file preference is the deal breaker for me.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

There is no way to shut this off.

In the You Tube video to demo the Freecorder, Leslie uses BBC News as an example. Wouldn't this site create dozens of small MP3s since there would be so many pauses and periods of silence? I wonder if there is an upgraded version of this toolbar that she is demonstrating, because I think the settings window she opened in the video looks different than what I just downloaded from your site. Thanks, please advise.

I also have this. It never happened with Freecorder, so surely must be a bug. I should not end up with multiple files when recording a play. Not practical to then have to spend time puting the files back together.

Guess if this is not fixable will have to try some other free recorder.

Can we not still download Freecorder, even if it is no longer supported

Thank god for this thread!!!...I'VE HAD THIS PROBLEM AS WELL:mad:

i simply hit record walk away to go have dinner thinking i got one nice streamed file and all of a sudden i find all these little broken up MP3's..

i'ts frustrating cause i really like the EASY TO USE TOOLBAR , but i guess it's too good to be true, and i'm not getting any software to splice and edit, i don't have time for that , like someone said one nice big uninterrupted file, i hope the manufacturers can correct this, cause i really like this software

On the ask and record download page there is a link to the old freecorder download page which takes you here...

I see this thread dates back quite a while, but the problem persists.

Going to an earlier version seems the only answer. Has no one from Applian responded or taken this on board?
