Hi. This is my first post in this forum about Freecorder. I have recorded some streaming audio from a radio station but I find that it recorded only in mono.

I am using an eMachine desktop, using the audio chip on the motherboard (NVIDIA nForce Audio). Playing with the settings it looks like the only Recording Configuration that works is "Record from Windows Input Device", with the Line setting at "Microphone."

Are there other settings combinations to use? Is it necessary to have a sound card that handles stereo microphones or other equipment that should be added?

TIA. Fred

We need more information from you. What is your sound card? When you put your default sound card in what shows up under line? What version of windows are you using.

I don't have a separate sound card. I'm using the sound capabilities of the built-in sound system -- NVIDIA nFORCE. Could that be the problem? There is a microphone input, but it seems to be a mono mike.

Should I get a separate sound card and use the LINE input? Does it matter how sophisticated the sound card is?

TIA very much.

If you are using Vista then this program is not going to work for you. You might want to try our Freecorder Toolbar and see if it meets your needs. If you are not using the Toolbar you should contact tech support as more information is going to be needed.
